Requirements :

  • NQF Level 7 Degree in Economics, Development Studies, Social Studies equivalent to NQF level 7. 2-3 years’ experience in Economic Research / Modelling / Statistics. EB Driver’s License, Research/Analysis, Knowledge in Statistics/Economics, Reporting Procedures People management/ interpersonal skills, Problem-solving, Computer Literacy, Planning and Organising, Communication (verbal and written) skills, Stakeholder management/engagement.

Duties :

  • Draft policies, procedures and frameworks for economic policy and planning. Draft policy, procedure and framework guidelines for economic policy and planning. Promote adherence to economic policies, procedures and frameworks . Conduct research on policies, procedures and frameworks for economic policy and planning. Conduct research on key socioeconomic topics of relevance to the economic policy and planning work of the branch. Conduct research on economic modelling and statistical forecasting techniques. Conduct economic data collection, consolidation and analysis for research outputs. Compile forecasts of expected economic tendencies. Develop, coordinate, and standardise statistical methods. Provide advice on the use of statistical methods . Prepare research notes on key and emerging economic topics that affects the policies and strategies of the department. Prepare research notes and draft presentations for internal and external stakeholder consultation. Communicate economic research, policies, frameworks, and procedures to stakeholders. Circulate economic modelling and statistics information to stakeholders. Assess the impact of economic interventions vis a vis the implementation of policies and strategies. Review of impact of policies and planning on the day-to-day economic analysis of Gauteng. Report on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis on economic trends. Allocate work to staff. Manage the quality of work. Train and develop staff. Manage staff performance
